Jackie Todd is a writer and VFX Coordinator based in Los Angeles. As a former contortionist and vaudevillian, she brings a touch of the surreal to her scripts that center around sibling dynamics and the emotional and physical toll of living with chronic illness, disability, and trauma. She completed her MFA in film and television production at Columbia University (2021) and is an alumna of the RespectAbility Lab (2022). Her short films have been featured at festivals, including Nevermore Film Festival, and she is a second-rounder in the Austin Film Festival (2023), and a Humanitas Prize semi-finalist.
Todd’s career started in her hometown of Chicago, where she workshopped projects with Kartemquin Films and produced documentaries for the University of Chicago that were featured in The Washington Post, National Geographic, and Wired. Todd worked as a Production Coordinator for Stick Figure Productions where she worked on the Discovery+ series Relentless. After relocating to LA she worked as a writer’s assistant for Aisha Porter-Christie on a project in development with Universal Television. She currently works as a Coordinator for GhostVFX, where she has worked on series including XO, Kitty for Netflix. In her spare time, she works as a story consultant for Infinite Stories, a startup that provides AI-integrated storylines for tabletop role-play games.
